Annual Retreats for Province’s Housekeeping Staff

Chennai - March 28, 2026: This year, the Housekeeping Staff Annual Retreat for the Salesian Province of Chennai was organized regionally by Deepagam to foster inner renewal, strengthen faith, and nurture a deeper sense of vocation among the staff serving in Salesian institutions.

 

The one-day retreat provided moments for reflection and personal transformation, enabling participants to grow in their relationship with God and rediscover the dignity and value of their service within the Salesian mission.

 

The retreat was successfully conducted across four regions—Vellore, Tirupattur, Pondicherry, and Chennai—ensuring wider participation and accessibility for all staff members.

The retreat in the Vellore region witnessed active participation from the staff, who engaged deeply in the sessions and spiritual exercises. The reflections helped them to renew their commitment to their daily responsibilities with a spirit of faith and dedication.


The Tirupattur retreat saw a significant gathering of participants. The sessions emphasized inner healing, forgiveness, and the importance of living one’s vocation with sincerity. Participants responded with enthusiasm and openness to the provided spiritual inputs.


Though smaller in number, the Pondicherry retreat was marked by a deep sense of recollection and prayer. The participants experienced a meaningful time of reflection, which strengthened their spiritual lives and sense of belonging to the Salesian pastoral family.


The Chennai region witnessed the largest participation, bringing together domestic staff from various institutions across the city. The retreat created a vibrant atmosphere of faith and unity, with sessions that inspired participants to integrate spirituality into their daily service.


The House-Keepers Annual Retreat (2025–2026) was a fruitful and grace-filled initiative that reached a total of 448 participants across the four regions. The retreats not only enriched the spiritual lives of the participants but also reinforced their integral role within the Salesian mission.


The Province expresses its sincere gratitude to all the hosting institutions, preachers, and coordinators who contributed to the successful organization of these retreats. The initiative stands as a testament to the Province’s commitment to the holistic formation and well-being of all its collaborators.
